What should I bring to Pilates Class?
If you’ve never been to a Pilates class before, have no fear! Help is here! When we sign up for new opportunities, perhaps, things out of our comfort zone, fear tries to rise. However, instead of leaning into that fear (which is not from God) rather lean into the freedom you have in Christ!
So Tip #1: Please bring yourself. Please bring the authentic you. Not a version of you that you’d like to be but simply you. There’s no point in hiding who you are when Jesus sees all of YOU and he loves you anyway. So show up and be loved by others.
Tip #2: Bring a delightful attitude. At all times, the Bible tells us, we are to sing praises to God (no matter how early we show up to class) and we are to have a reason for our faith. Put on a joyful presence and be a blessing to others that show up. It makes for wonderful fellowship and encouragement! Don’t we all want to be in an edifying atmosphere?
Tip #3: Bring a good *Pilates* mat. Try, if you can afford it, to buy an 8-10mm thick Pilates mat (or my personal favorite is one-inch thick and it’s listed below). Some mats are labeled “yoga” and that’s OK if it’s high enough off the floor for your spine to feel as comfortable as possible. (Side note: Pilates is definitely NOT like yoga… but more on that in a later blog post.)
Tip #4: Bring a water bottle. Because we all know it’s important to stay hydrated. But who needs water when you have Living Water??!!??!!! Can I get an, AMEN!?
See you in class, sisters!
Oh and if you need a little help finding the few items I’ve mentioned (which are my personal favorites), here’s the link to my Amazon list for your browsing, only if you find it helpful!
